Silver Cloud Patterns

Year:

2024

The creative concept of this piece is inspired by the silver-threaded cloud patterns found on the sacred robe of General Black Tiger at Beigang Wude Temple.

These cloud motifs symbolize auspiciousness and good fortune, embodying the divine protection and blessings of the gods. Ching-ke Lin masterfully employs flexible and dynamic bamboo weaving techniques to sculpt flowing cloud forms, merging various materials to craft a highly kinetic installation. This work not only highlights the unique religious culture of Wude Temple but also reflects the artist's innovative reinterpretation of traditional symbols.

As dusk falls, hidden lights within the piece gradually come to life, casting enchanting shadows and creating an ethereal scene of drifting clouds and mist. The immersive experience evokes a sense of divine protection, allowing viewers to bask in the tranquil and sacred beauty of serene harmony.
