Floating Ink extends the weaving technique of Clouds and Smoke, where overlapping bamboo strips flow like calligraphic brushstrokes, transforming written art into a dynamic, three-dimensional space. The bamboo’s strength and flexibility intertwine, with empty spaces as breath and solid segments as ink’s rhythm. Each curve echoes an ink mark in mid-flight—light yet forceful, graceful yet grounded. The piece traces the brush’s movement, shifting between expansiveness and stillness, allowing the rhythm of writing and breathing to resonate within the space. As light and shadow shift, the ink-like forms seem to flutter in the wind, capturing the vitality of calligraphy and the spirit of bamboo in an endless, flowing dance.Balancing strength and softness, motion and stillness, Floating Ink embodies the fluidity of Eastern calligraphic aesthetics while opening new possibilities for bamboo in contemporary sculpture, unveiling a fresh realm of imagination in bamboo art.
