Beaded Prayer
珠念
Year:
2026
Beaded Prayer uses prayer beads as its central metaphor, linking together round bamboo-woven beads to form a spatial structure that visitors can move through.
The repetition of the beads and the intervals between them create a slow, measured rhythm—echoing the long-standing flow of people coming and going in Beigang, and the continuation of faith across time.
In Yunlin, faith exists not only within rituals, but also in everyday life and in the gradual accumulation of time. “Recitation” is an inward movement—the stirring of the heart, the preserving of memory, and the ongoing generation of wishes as time unfolds.
This work transforms something once held between the fingers into a landscape-scale experience, turning walking into a way of perceiving. Between bead and bead, what is connected is not merely form, but the intangible relationship between people and the land.
